Haydn and Beethoven Welcome Summer
The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey with Maestro Robert W. Butts concludes their 2024-2025 season and welcomes summer with the exciting music of Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, New Jersey.
The concert will feature renowned pianist Jacqueline Schiller as soloist for Beethoven’s thrilling Piano Concerto #1. Ms. Schiller has collaborated with the New York Philharmonic in their chamber music series at Merkin Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium, SOHO Guggenheim, The Roerich Museum, and the Donnell Library. She has participated at festivals in Aspen, Colorado, Tangelwood, Massachusetts, and Musicisti Americani in Sulmona, Italy. She has recorded on Elysium records with the Martinu Philharmonic, with whom she performed at Carnegie Hall. She has also recorded a solo CD featuring works of Bach, Mozart, and Chopin and a recording of three Beethoven sonatas with Allan Schiller of the New York Philharmonic. This marks Ms. Schiller’s debut performance with BONJ.
Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony #101 has been a favorite with concert audiences for over two hundred years. It is nicknamed The Clock due to the tick-tock rhythmic sounds of the second movement.
Maestro Robert W. Butts has led the orchestra since its founding in 1996. He has conducted operas and orchestra concerts in Romania, Russia, France, Italy, and Germany. His compositions have been performed internationally.
Tickets are just $40 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $5 for students under 22 with a valid ID.
